We are thankful for the work provided by our Leaders and Staff in helping us achieve the goals we have set in serving the the children and families of our community.

Thomas Homans

Secretary

Director

Tom2_edited_edited.jpg

Tom became a born-again Christian at the age of 20 after being witnessed to by his brother.  In  the summer of 1988 he was invited to visit the Center by a friend and the Lord used that one afternoon to change the course of his life.

He was so impressed by the ministry that he started volunteering which eventually led to the position of Director.  Tom has been involved in the CCC ministry since 1988. He met his wife Cindy there and they now have three grown daughters who help in the ministry.  "Seeing young children and teens put their faith in Christ is our goal and being able to look back and see that the Lord has truly worked in the lives of many children has brought us tremendous joy".

Walter grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and  got saved at Grace Bible Baptist Church (GBBC) in 1985.  He became a member of GBBC in 1987 and has been involved with the center for since 2006.

Walter has served in the bus ministry at GBBC since 2000.

He loves being around the young people at CCC and seeing firsthand how the Lord is impacting many of their lives.

"I wish I had a CCC when I was growing up."

Barbara Kolbe

Staff

Barbara started bringing her two daughters to the Center about the year of 1980.  She attended the women's class and trusted in Christ as Savior soon after.

Around 1990, Barbara started working on staff and has been helping out ever since.  Barb prepares lunches for the ladies on Monday and also makes sandwiches for the children.  According to many expert children's opinions; no one makes a better peanut butter and jelly sandwich!

Cindy Homans

Volunteer

Cindy_edited_edited.jpg

Cindy has been involved in the CCC since1987 when she was asked to lead music for “mission camp”. Needless to say, after the first summer working at camp, she was eager to continue serving in the music ministry, and wherever else she could assist. Cindy became a staff member the following year and began to teach various ages when needed. She met her husband, Tom at the Center, raised a family, and have been faithfully serving with their 3 girls ever since. Cindy's hope is that she can help to bring children up to grade level in reading and writing skills. She often tells the children how important it is to learn to read so that they will be able to read God’s Word, the Bible.

Julie Riddick

Volunteer

Julie_edited_edited.jpg

Julie has been involved at the CCC since she was a child. As an adolescent, she began teaching Bible classes to the young children. During her teenager and young adult years, she continued to teach Bible classes to the older children and teens. Later, she leveraged her work at the CCC, to complete a teaching degree in college. Julie married Jordan Riddick, a long-time student of the CCC. She teaches at Steuart Hill Academic Academy in Baltimore City Public School located less than two blocks from the CCC. This school is the one from which most of the CCC children come daily. She actively recruits new families and walks groups of students to the CCC each day.

Alicia Homans

Volunteer

Staff3_edited_edited.jpg

Alicia has been involved at the CCC since she was a child like her sister Julie. As a child, the CCC provided her with a place to build life-long friendships. Most importantly, she was able to learn the truths of the Bible daily. Sharing the gospel as an adult with the children who attend the center now has been one of the the greatest opportunities she has ever been given. Alicia began working as a sign language interpreter in 2018 and hopes to invite deaf children to attend the CCC. By God’s grace, a deaf girl began attending the mission at the end of 2021, and she was able to see the truth of the gospel. She prays for future growth and that the Lord sends more deaf children our way.

Elizabeth Homans

Volunteer

Elizabeth has been involved at the CCC since she was a child like her sisters Julie and Alicia. She attended the CCC as a young child and continued throughout her teen years. As a teenager, she was given the opportunity to teach Bible classes to younger children. Her experience teaching at the CCC led her to a degree in Elementary Education and the pursuit of a teaching job in Baltimore City. During the Covid pandemic, when schools went online in 2020, Elizabeth helped start a tutoring program at the CCC. She continues to go to the CCC after school to help with whatever is needed. She is always blessed to be able to hear the Word of God and watch the children grow faith and knowledge of the Lord.

Shaquille People

Volunteer

Shaquille_edited_edited.jpg

Shaquille started attending the CCC with his cousins as a baby. His family has been connected with the CCC for two generations. The CCC is a major part of Shaquille's life, as it is the place where he learned about the tender love and Grace of God. Shaquille is a volunteer now, but still attends. He is grateful for opportunity that the Lord has given him to serve at the CCC.  Shaquille's volunteering activities include organizing basketball and other games, assisting with the summer camp and helping wherever else he is needed.

Shaquille is now a supervisor with Southwest Airlines, and he prays that God will continue to use him in life and at the CCC.
